Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try

To serve God* and my country,

To help people at all times

And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be

honest and fair,

friendly and helpful,

considerate and caring,

courageous and strong, and

responsible for what I say and do,

and to

respect myself and others,

respect authority,

use resources wisely

make the world a better place, and

be a sister to every Girl Scout

10 Essentials

The 10 essentials are designed to ensure that hikers could respond to an emergency or accident, and remain safe if forced to stay out on the trail overnight.

Here is a list that we want every scout to have with them on all outings/camping trips.

In Day Pack:

  1. Water bottle (full & ready to go)
  2. First Aid kit
  3. Whistle
  4. Flashlight or headlamp (with new batteries)
  5. Rain Gear (or large trash bag)
  6. Sunscreen, Lip balm, & Bug spray
  7. Emergency food (trail mix, granola bars, nutrition bar)
  8. Matches
  9. Pocket Knife
  10. Map & Compass (optional)

Pocket knives are not approved for scouts until they have had proper training. Please contact Troop Leader prior to packing a knife.
